This is an excellent model from Revell that I've had sitting on my shelf gathering dust for the better part of the year now, I figured it was finally time to put it together. I found from a very reliable source that this model is done in 1/2274 scale, even so its a pretty big model, roughly 19 inches long. This model is very detailed, especially on the top and bottom halves, thought it does seems to get a bit sloppy on the engines and side details but even so it is still very intricate.
The kit suggest that you use about 7 different kinds of Grey for this model, ranging from gunship Grey to camouflage Grey, These are mainly for layering the different panels and sunken parts of the ship but you can probably get a way with just using 2 or 3 and mix them with black or white to obtain the desired color. I used these colors to complete the model
insignia yellow
medium grey
flat black
dark grey
chrome
guard red
gloss blue
flat white
I shaved the list down from 12 to 8, only having to purchase the medium and dark greys, Id bought the rest for the wolverine model. if your starting from scratch then all these paints should run your around $40, less if your real friendly with the owner of your local hobby store, unfortunately for me the local guy is a tough nut to crack so it full price all the way, but i do get 20% off the next model I buy ^_^. If your not good at mixing paints then i suggest you put down your brush and glue and practice with some cheap paints for a while, or if you have some extra cash you might want to pick up those extra shades of grey.
If you don't already have a nice fine brush, and i mean fine as if you could paint your name on the head of a pin fine, then i suggest you pick one up, this model had a lot of high detail in some hard to get to spots.
